Frequently Asked Questions

Sessions can be available within 24-48 hours depending on the therapist and the demand for a particular time slot. It is important to note that individual, couple, and family therapy sessions can be held in-person in The Hills Private Hospital office or via phone or Zoom, which is very convenient. Participating in therapy sessions remotely allows you to join from anywhere without having to travel. This also provides more flexibility in terms of scheduling, including after-hours options. If you would like to learn more about our availability or schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your situation, please contact Blossoming Minds Therapy at 0412 899 086.

The initial sessions for Individual therapy is usually 90 minutes and the follow-ups are 60 minutes. Couples and Family therapy are standard 2 hours. We recommend initial Sessions that are more than 30 minutes longer, so that you get the chance to share everything and take away some tools and tips from the first session, for the time in between appointments.

After the first appointment, we’ll also suggest a plan for ongoing appointments, including session duration.

To schedule an appointment, you can directly book it online, you can also call our office, or send us an email. Our admin coordinator will work with you to schedule an initial consultation with one of our therapists.

A referral is not necessary, but having a referral and Mental Healthcare Plan is helpful for identifying intersections between physical and mental health. Nonetheless, we welcome all patients to seek our services.

Our services are not covered by Medicare as we are a private practitioner.
To claim Medicare rebates, you need a Mental Health Care Plan and GP referral to a psychologist.

Several private health funds like Bupa, Medibank Private, AHM, and others offer rebates for counseling.
You can contact your provider to check your coverage.

For any queries, call 0412 899 086 or email us.

Kindly note that we require a 24-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments to avoid the full fee or deposit being charged. While we understand that life events can intervene, please note that regular attendance is essential for optimal counseling outcomes.

In-person appointments – Payments are accepted via cash, debit or credit card at the time of appointment.

Online appointments – Payments are required by bank transfer or credit card prior to online sessions commencing.
